The Sacrificial Lamb of the Most High
Have you ever seen a lamb being slaughtered? When it is led to its death, the poor animal does not even resist, but meekly follows the lead. And after you tie it up, it will lie still. No matter how much pain the lamb experiences, when they start cutting its throat, it will lie silently, with wide-open eyes, as if it itself came and put its head under the knife. People sacrifice a sheep during the celebration of Eid al-Adha or Eid al-Adha. Why do they do this? They do this in honor of the memory of those ancient events when the faith of Ibrahim (a.s.) was tested, and he had to sacrifice his beloved son, but the Almighty miraculously saved him by sending a substitute sacrifice, a pure and immaculate lamb. As it is written in the Quran:

وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ

«We ransomed him with a great sacrifice.» (Quran As-Saffat 37:107)

The word "ransom" here means redemption. To redeem someone means to pay for him so that the captive can gain freedom and life. This is not just an ancient historical event. The significance and meaning of this substitutionary sacrifice is much broader and deeper. This event is also a great sign for us, so that we can learn about Allah's love and His mercy towards us humans. So what is this sign and what does it point to? An important detail that the Holy Scripture draws attention to is how Ibrahim (s.a.) called the place where the lamb was sacrificed instead of his son: «Ibrahim looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. He went and took the ram and offered it as a burnt offering in place of his son. Ibrahim called that place “The Lord Will Provide.” Hence it is said to this day: “On the Mount of the Lord He Will Provide.» (Book of Taurat, Beginning 22:13-14).
We see the name of the place of sacrifice "The Eternal will provide" points to the future time and the great event that will take place in this place. Ibrahim (s.a.) being a prophet knew that on this mountain the Lord will provide the Greatest Sacrifice (Qurban). The son of Ibrahim was redeemed from death by the fact that a lamb was slaughtered in his place.
2000 years after this significant event, Isa al-Masih was miraculously born as a gift from Allah. He was born without a share of Shaitan, pure and sinless as it is said in the Quran: He responded: «I am only a messenger from your Lord, ˹sent˺ to bless you with a pure son.» (Quran Maryam 19:19)

Isa had many names. But the most famous of them is Masih (Messiah). He also has another name, the significance of which is very great. It is said in the Injil: «The next day Yahya saw Isa coming towards him and said: “This is the Lamb of Allah, who will take away the sin of the world!» (Injil Yohan 1:29)

The name «Allah's Sacrificial Lamb» directly links the events that happened to Ibrahim and his son on the mountain indicated by Allah. Since it was in this very place that the Holy Blood of Isa al-Masih was shed. He, having lived a holy and sinless life, was honored by Allah Himself to become the Great Sacrifice (Qurban) for all people on earth. As was said by the ancient prophets about Him:
«He was wounded for our sins, crushed for our iniquities; He was punished so that we would have peace, and by His wounds we are healed. All of us, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has gone his own way, but the Eternal has laid all our sins on Him. He was oppressed and tormented, but He did not open His mouth. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers was silent, so He opened not His mouth.» (Isaiah 53:5-7)

People dedicate their sacrifice to Allah, believing that they are continuing the traditions of their ancestors, in the hope that through this sacrifice they will be cleansed of their sins. You know that in everyday life people commit many sins, big and small. And for the Almighty, a small, unnoticeable offense, a lie spoken, envy, abuse, or even a completely insignificant but dirty thought is a sin. Injil says this: «Whoever keeps the whole Law but fails in one point, he has become guilty of all of it.» (Yaqub 2:10)
Every person, for the sins he has committed, deserves punishment from the Almighty. Unfortunately, people all over the world, without exception, are sinners in the eyes of the Almighty. As it is written about this in Zabur and the Quran: «The Eternal looks down from the heavens upon mankind to see if there is any understanding, seeking Allah. All have turned away from Allah, all of them, as one, have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.»  (Zabur 13:2-3)

«If Allah had started to call people out for their injustice, He would not have left a single living creature on the earth.» (Quran An-Nahl 16:61)

Adam and Hawa were the first to listen to the lies of shayāṭīn . Since then, everyone has fallen into sin, following the lies of shayāṭīn and listening to his voice. For this reason, Allah must punish everyone, He is righteous and will not leave sin unpunished. In order to punish the devil and his demons, the Almighty created the fire of eternal hell (Jahannam), but all those people who followed them and were not obedient to their Creator will share shayāṭīn’s fate. People often want to erase their sins by shedding the blood of an innocent lamb. It is sacrificed for the sins of people and it seems to die in their place. Humbly submitting to the people who sacrificed it. The lamb pays for the deeds they have committed with its life and accepts the heaviest punishment - death. By shedding the blood of an innocent animal, people want to wash away their sins. But can this blood save us from hell? Can the good deeds we do save us from the punishment of the Most High? After all, Allah evaluates people's deeds by their intentions! The Injeel proclaims good news to us: we do not need to sacrifice a lamb and shed its innocent blood. For Allah has already sacrificed Isa al-Masih as the Lamb of the Most High for us. «For the Messiah died for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring you to the Most High. His body was put to death, but He was made alive by the Spirit.» (Injeel 1 Pet. 3:18)

Isa Masih, having become one of us, accepted death for all mankind, three days later He rose from the dead and showed His victory over sin and death and was raised alive by Allah to heaven to come back to earth as the King of kings! The ascension of Isa alive to heaven is called "Hijrah of Isa al-Masih". And now Isa saves all who believe in Him. His blood was the payment for the sins of all people. The saving power of His blood is limitless. Now all you have to do is believe in it, then His blood will cleanse you too.
«You were redeemed from the empty life handed down to you by your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of the Messiah, like that of a lamb without blemish or defect. He was foreordained before the foundation of the world but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in the Almighty, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, so that you may believe in the Almighty and put your trust in him.» (Injil 1 Peter 1:18-21)

If you repent to Allah and believe in the sacrifice that was made for you, you will be cleansed by the blood of the Messiah, like the innocent and pure blood of a lamb, and you will be saved. The blood of Isa the Messiah will save you from your sins forever, and instead of the punishment you deserve - the eternal fire of hell, you will receive the gift of eternal life and after death you will inherit the eternal Mercy of Allah. There is no sorrow and no misfortune. Isa said: «I tell you the truth: everyone who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life, and will not have to come to judgment; he has already passed from death to life.» (Injil Yohan 5:24)
If you believe in Isa al-Masih, He will enter your heart as He is the Spirit of Allah (Ruhullah), and He will make you a new person, change your whole life and give you assurance of salvation.
Isa al-Masih said:«I am the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father (Allah) except through Me.» (Injil Yohan 14:6)

Isa Mesih is the straight path (Sirat Al-Mustaqim). This is the path of mercy leading to Heaven.
May Allah be merciful to you!
